As a mom who loves to blend fun with learning, I’m always looking for creative ways to teach my kids about their faith. One of the most exciting and engaging concepts in the Bible is the Armor of God. That’s why I created an Armor of God Bingo game for kids. The Scriptures that discuss the Amor of God hold a powerful message. These Bible verses teach kids about the spiritual armor we can wear to protect ourselves from challenges, temptations, and spiritual battles.

Armor of God Bingo: A Hands-On Bible Bingo Game for Kids

What better way to learn about it than through a fun and interactive Bible bingo game? That’s right—today, I’m sharing a FREE printable Armor of God Bingo game that will help your kids (and even you!) understand and apply the principles of the Armor of God while having a blast.

So, print out the cards (the free printable can be found at the end of this post), cut them out, and let’s dive into the world of the Armor of God with a game that will leave everyone eager to learn more!

What Is the Armor of God?

Before we get into the fun details of the Armor of God Bingo game, let’s talk briefly about the concept itself. The Armor of God is described in Ephesians 6:10-18, where the Apostle Paul encourages believers to “put on the full armor of God” to stand firm against the enemy. It’s a metaphor for the spiritual tools God provides to protect us from temptation, discouragement, and sin.

Here’s a quick overview of the six pieces of armor:

  1. The Belt of Truth – It helps us stand firm in what is true.
  2. The Breastplate of Righteousness – It guards our hearts and helps us make the right choices.
  3. The Shoes of Peace – They prepare us to share the good news of Jesus with others.
  4. The Shield of Faith – It protects us from doubts and lies.
  5. The Helmet of Salvation – It reminds us of our salvation and hope in Christ.
  6. The Sword of the Spirit – It’s the Word of God, our weapon against temptation and lies.

In addition to the six pieces of Armor, I like to include a seventh: Prayer. Ephesians 6:18 says we should be “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” Prayer is a powerful weapon and I definitely think it should be included when teaching kids about the Armor of God.

These spiritual tools help us fight battles in life, and there’s no better way to introduce them to kids than through a fun Bible bingo game that highlights each piece of the armor.

Armor of God Bingo: How to Play

If you’re like me, you love a good game night. And if you can sneak in a little learning with the fun, even better! That’s where Armor of God Bingo comes in. I’ve designed a FREE printable Armor of God Bingo game with 4 different cards and accompanying call-out cards to make it easy to play with family, friends, or your church group.

This Bible bingo game will help your kids (and adults, too!) learn about each part of the Armor of God while having a blast. Here’s how you can use it:

Print the Game Cards

Four different Armor of God Bingo cards are included in the free printable, along with a set of call-out cards (I’ve made these available for download at the end of this post). Each player will need one card. The bigger the group of kids playing, the more winners you will have at once.

You can choose to play this game the traditional way by drawing one card from the letter call-out card pile and one from the Armor of God image call-out card pile. For example, if you were to draw a “B” card and a “Shoes of Peace” card, you would call out “B, Shoes of Peace” to the players. They would then cover the square if it appears on their card.

I like to place my call-out cards in bowls for ease of use. You can simplify the game by omitting the letter cards and only playing with the Armor of God cards. This is a great choice if you are playing with young children.

Grab Some Fun Game Pieces

My kids love to use fun items to cover their bingo cards, such as raisins or chocolate chips. I’ve also used small squares that I cut out of construction paper. Have fun and get creative with this part of the game!

Shuffle the Call-Out Cards

Cut out the call-out cards. Next, mix them up and when a card is drawn, read it aloud. The players will then mark off the matching armor piece on their bingo card.

First to Bingo Wins!

The first player to get five pieces of armor in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) wins a prize! You can play multiple rounds to make the fun last

While playing this Armor of God Bingo game, it’s helpful to pause and discuss each piece of armor. Here are some discussion questions to help deepen your child’s understanding of the Armor of God and its significance in their lives:

  1. The Belt of Truth – Why is it important to know what is true? Can you think of a time when it was hard to tell the truth? How did you feel?
  2. The Breastplate of Righteousness – What do you think it means to make righteous choices? How can wearing this piece of Armor protect your heart?
  3. The Shoes of Peace – How can we share God’s peace with others? What are some ways you can be a peacemaker at home or school?
  4. The Shield of Faith – What does faith mean? How does our faith protect us when things get tough?
  5. The Helmet of Salvation – What is salvation? How does it change the way we see ourselves and our future?
  6. The Sword of the Spirit – What is the Word of God, and how can we use it to fight against temptation or fear?
